More than 1000 Callaway descendants from 47 states and 6 foreign countries have become members since CFA was formed in 1975 in Atlanta, GA. Our common interest is Callaway genealogy, sharing family information, records, and stories. This information is available at the Troup County Archives in LaGrange, GA.

Membership is open to anyone, whether or not a Callaway descendant, who is interested in furthering the objectives of the Association. All spellings are equally recognized: CALLAWAY was chosen for the title because it appeared to be the most widely used.

We meet each October, in various cities across the United States. Sites have been Callaway Gardens, GA; Roanoke, VA; Louisville, KY; Shreveport, LA; Athens, GA; Austin, TX; San Diego, CA; St. Louis, MO; Sacramento, CA; Williamsburg, VA; Orlando, FL; Philadelphia, PA; Knoxville, TN; Little Rock, AR; Frankfort, KY; San Antonio, TX; Savannah, GA; Denver, CO; New Orleans, LA and Boston, MA. It is thrilling to reunite with cousins, and to meet new ones! Workshops are held and we enjoy historical tours of the area and family banquets. Those attending elect Officers and Directors for a term of 3 years.

Members receive an annual Journal with news of CFA and of members, family stories, photos (old and new), abstracts of official records (wills, deeds, etc) from capitals and court houses of colonies, and early states. Currently, a hardcover book of Callaway records and family history is being compiled for future publication.

Every month an e-newsletter is created and will be emailed to anyone who has registered their email address with callawayjournal at aol.com. It always has lots of “Callaway/Kellaway” genealogy and news.
